The Fox is made on a pocket edition from 1948 of ‘The Fox’, written by D.H. Lawrence in 1922 about a love triangle in the countryside.

On each page all words beginning with an f are selected in red, including the white around them.

These amorphous red shapes are point of departure for the brush and ink drawings. On each page they display three figures: 1, 2 and 3.

Only on the cover the colors are the other way around.
