Leaving soon for Xiamen
Welcome to my China blog!!! First of all sorry to those of you with whom I usually speak Dutch or Spanish, it’s just too elaborate to write each post in three languages – even more now I’m trying to get some Mandarine into this wooden head 😉 – and I guess you all understand English, so that’s what I’ll use here.
15 March I’m leaving for China. My base will be the Artist-in-Residency CEAC – The Chinese European Art Center – in Xiamen. I hope to get to know China from various angles: I’ll study calligraphy and traditional painting techniques with Chinese colleagues; I’ll do some teaching myself; I’ll explore Xiamen and it’s surroundings and will travel to one or more major other cities; I hope to get to know Chinese people and exchange thoughts and experiences with them; and most of all I’ll work on new paintings, drawings and textworks which I’ll show at the end of my stay CEAC’s exhibition space.
The plan is to post a message here about every two weeks, starting end March, until I come back half June.
